**Repairable Faults**

**Loss of Communication:**

- Example 1: The control unit has filled with water, corroding some pins, and now it does not communicate during diagnostics and the car won’t start.  
- Example 2: Due to a short circuit, the control unit is burned, does not enter diagnostics, and the car won’t start.

**Recovery or Malfunction:**

- Example: The vehicle starts and runs fine, but then goes into limp mode, and the engine warning light turns on.  
- Example: The car starts directly in limp mode.  
- Example: The car shuts off or runs poorly.  
- Example: The car won’t start.

**Engine Warning Light On:** The control unit fault may intermittently fail to power certain sensors, leading to engine shutdown or preventing the car from starting.
