ABS Volkswagen Scirocco Ate MK61 TT1

Faults Detected in VW Scirocco ABS and Brakes with Teves MK61 System

• The brake pedal goes to the end of its travel, and braking pressure is lost.
• One or more wheels do not brake, often in a cross pattern.
• One or more wheels remain stuck in a braking position.

Malfunctions indicated by a warning light (16352, 046A, 01130) can often be resolved with a reprogramming, saving on labor costs for disassembly.

Hydraulic Overhaul Available for All Brake Issues Reported by Customers:

• The pedal goes down, and the car does not brake.
• Brake fluid does not reach one wheel, which then does not brake.
• A wheel remains stuck in a braking position, and to release it, the bleeder valve on the caliper must be opened, or you have to wait 30 minutes.

Electronic Fault Overhaul:

• Malfunction of the main processor, which is no longer able to reliably process the signals it receives. The overhaul is performed by replacing the processor.

Fault Codes:

• 16352 – Defective control unit
• 01130 – ABS Operation: Signal Not Plausible
• 046A – ABS Operation: Signal Not Plausible
• 3FE0 – Defective Electronic Control Unit

This issue has been exacerbated by a software update from the manufacturer aimed at increasing ABS sensitivity to improve performance. Unfortunately, on already deteriorated ABS systems, this has caused the problem, which, as known, Volkswagen’s warranty covers for vehicles that have undergone the official recall.
