About Blue&Me:

Blue&Me is an infotainment system available in certain Fiat Group vehicles. Based on the Windows Embedded Automotive platform (a combination of the Windows CE operating system and the Microsoft Auto middleware), it is developed by Magneti Marelli (a Fiat Group company) in collaboration with Microsoft. Its main functions are hands-free calling and multimedia playback.

How to fix it:

It is sufficient to remove the metal support holding the unit.

Frequent Failures:

The most common description is "the mileage flashes and drains the battery." This issue is caused by a failure in communication with the instrument cluster, which keeps the connection active for continuous searching. Due to the nearly half-ampere draw over a few hours, the battery drains.

What fails:

Part of the electronics is branded Samsung, and the internal memory is similar to that of mobile phones. However, the high temperatures and continuous stress take a toll on them, causing them to fail, get unsoldered, or simply lose data.

Repair process:

Depending on the type of memory, the repair process involves either fixing it or, in the case of more serious failures, completely reprogramming the unit with a J-tag programmer to rewrite the original software.
