Common Failures
- Wheels that remain braked: The most common failure is definitely that of the wheels remaining braked even when the foot is lifted off the brake pedal.
- Wheels that do not brake: Sometimes the defect is only noticeable on the test bench, but at other times the defect makes driving dangerous by causing the car to skid during hard braking.
- The car does not start, water infiltration: This is typically caused by errors in wheel rotation sensors or a total alteration of the CAN bus. The infiltration occurs from the windshield washer reservoir, which breaks and causes leaks, not from rainwater.
- Hydraulic failure: The ABS warning light should be off, and no errors should be detected during diagnostics.
- Electronic failure: ABS or ESP warning lights illuminate on the instrument panel or errors are detected in diagnostics related to wheel rotations, valves, or sensors.
